The Last Rose description:
On March 6, 2004, Thomas Pierce, his wife, JoAnn, and his daughter Lisa were on the water taxi that overturned in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. He lost both of them that day.
Pierce’s account of the accident and the letter to Lisa written by one of the reservists that rescued her give the reader a grim understanding of what that day was like. But this is not a book about the accident—this is a book about the power of love. Love as we know it and understand it, and love that goes beyond our understanding. This is a book Pierce never intended to write, but he felt compelled to share the things that carried him through this tragedy and all the signs that helped him move on with his life. It is truly a celebration of two lives that will go on forever.

:
The book is one of the best books I have read in a long time. The cover is what caught my eye. The brillian yellow rose and the wedding rings in the lower right hand corner of the cover is what attracted me to browse through this book. Once I read what the book was about and the endorsements on the back cover, I just had to buy it. This is one of those books that once you start it you cannot put it down until you finish reading it.
