This book is addresses senior citizens and the large number of Baby Boomers entering the “golden years.” It was written by a senior citizen for senior citizens. The Baby Boomer generation is estimated to be 78 million strong and will have a unique set of beliefs and characteristics, vastly different from previous generations.
When Boomers age, they will face many standard chronic health problems and will also face their own mortality. For many seniors this is and will continue to be an all-encompassing problem, one they are often not willing to talk about. This book is directed to those who want to better understand what is happening to their bodies, and those who want to live more rewarding and contented retirement years.
Personal examples of many seniors are given illustrating different ways of dealing with senior problems. Isolation and loneliness, chronic illness, personal relationships, sleeping and maintaining a healthy attitude toward life are all discussed. Each section closes with a short prayer for those who find strength in religious expression. This is not a one-nostrum-fits-all approach to solving the problems of the aged. There are suggestions for many positive ways to look at the senior years
Senior Moments contains both personal experiences, stories and case histories of seniors. Sleepless nights, loss of control over body functions, loss of control over living conditions, extreme pain, and personal relationships are discussed and suggestions and strategies are offered that can help individuals deal with these problems.
More Senior Moments, the second book in this series, will discuss family strife, gratitude, sexual expression, and other issues important to seniors. Both physical and mental problems are discussed in detail.
