The Rising Tides of Freedom description:
The great ship of our nation faced one of its most challenging passages during the 1800s as millions of blacks struggled with the injustice of slavery. As Maryland sailed through these turbulent waters, two black leaders emerged to help steer a course towards liberty. The Rising Tides of Freedom tells the story of Frederick Douglass and Isaac Myers, and how their efforts for independence benefited blacks both locally and across the nation.

This beautiful volume was created by the students of The Crossroads School’s TCAP extended day program. It includes many full-color illustrations and photographs as well as an introduction by Jane Donovan, PH.D.

Proceeds from the sale of this book go to support the Baltimore City students of The Crossroads School at the Living Classrooms Foundation.
