Daniel Richards:
Once in a lifetime, if we are lucky, we stumble upon a person with such brilliance that one would wish everyone could know him and hear his words. That person for me is Hanshi Albert O. Geraldi. The Martial Arts were everything to me as a child and I wanted nothing more than to study it. After searching several schools all over New York, I arrived at Albert O. Geraldi’s Ryukyu Kempo Academy. My mind was set on it immediately. What I saw in Hanshi Geraldi was sheer virtuosity. It is rare to stumble upon any kind of teacher who is so well proficient in not only technique, but the history and philosophies as well. During my first few years of training I had to endure major spinal surgery which could have diminished my chance of continuing martial arts and many other physical activities. Later that year, I grew physically weaker and mentally insecure due to the pain and regression. Through his persistence, support and optimistic counsel, Hanshi Geraldi helped in my recovery. Now, at 30 years-old, in the shape of my life, teaching high school and still studying martial arts I can say; I owe a great deal to Hanshi Geraldi and Ryukyu Kempo. I look forward to reading this book.
